National level evidence of cancer incidence data for recent years is essential to plan and implement the effective interventions for control of cancers. National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP) maintains the Sri Lanka Cancer Registry (SLCR) and the Population-Based Cancer Registry (PBCR) for the capital district of Colombo which are the official sources of cancer incidence data for the country. As the initial stage of the proposed Task 1 & 2, 2015-2019 cancer incidence data has been entered and duplicates have been checked using CANREG5 Software. However, since there’s no personalized patient Identification Number, comparing to the cancer incidence rate of previous years with the existing data sets for years 2015-2019, it has been observed that, the data needs to be undergone another duplicate check to meet a realistic figure to the cancer incidence rate. Therefore, it was proposed to use LinkPRO software to check the duplicates as a further continuation.
