Study on the Dropouts in Technical and Vocational Education Centers in Sri Lanka

In addition to setting students themselves up for a lifetime of low wages and inadequate benefits, due to lack of proper skills and knowledge, Students who do completed their enrolled courses take a toll on the economy. An average of 39,000 students have dropped out in state own vocational training institutes from 2013 to 2018.

The assignment is completely delegated to scrutinize the issues hindered inside considering a holistic approach on the reason for the progressing increment of the dropout rate in technical and vocational sector. The main objective of tis assignment is to study the incidence of dropout or decreasing of completion of trainees in the public and private TVET institutions, and identify the factors influencing the dropouts of the students and recommend the strategic policy and operational options to overcome this issue.
